The Unified Patent Court (UPC) is fundamentally transforming the European patent system. But how does the new procedure work in practice, and what does this mean specifically for companies? Our mock trial, “Courtroom Europe,” offers a concise, realistic insight into the UPC’s procedures, roles, and decision-making logic.

What to expect:
The focus is on a fictional but realistic court hearing regarding a strategically relevant case modeled on the UPC. The proceedings follow real procedural steps: from defining the subject matter of the dispute through closing arguments and judicial questions to tactical considerations on both sides. The goal is to highlight typical pitfalls and make the practical operation of the new system understandable.
